Each department has the authority to purchase goods and services up to $3,000. Informal bidding starts at $3,000.01 through $50,000.00. Purchasing will attempt to obtain 3 written bids, quotes or proposals. Purchasing must attempt to contact 2 qualified historically underutilized businesses (HUB’s) located in Bowie County. Formal bidding procedures must be followed for all procurement over $50,000.00.Finance

No. It is our policy that all surplus items must go through the City surplus auction.Finance

Traditionally the surplus auction is held in October or November each year. Impound vehicles are not included in this auction. Those vehicles are handled through the Texarkana Texas Police Department.Finance
